The great Mediteranean tradition of the
Spanish Religious Imagery is faithfully reflected on these totally
handcrafted artistic nativity figures. Each figure is hand modeled in clay
and is later over-baked at 1,500 degrees C. After this process, it is
dressed with real textile fabrics that are dampened in special glue in
order to adapt them to the shape of the body and to form the pleats of the
clothes. Finally, when the fabric is dried, the hand polichromy process of
the piece begins, simulating the texture and richness of the clothes as
well as the fine detail of the face, eyes, etc. We can therefore assure
the exclusiveness of every piece, as it is virtually impossible to find
two identical figures. We can also guarnatee that the same ancient
techniques that have been used since memorial times throughout the
Mediteranean regions have been applied on their craftmanship. |
